The Indo Rural Charitable Trust (IRCT) is a non-profit organization committed to rural development through education, healthcare, skill development, and women empowerment in the Sundarbans region. While IRCT primarily operates through donations and service-based initiatives, it may offer physical goods (such as handcrafted products, awareness kits, educational materials, or thank-you merchandise) as part of fundraising campaigns, community programs, or donor appreciation efforts.

This Shipping and Exchange Policy outlines how we manage the delivery, delays, returns, and exchanges of such items.

2. Shipping Policy

2.1 Shipping Regions

We currently ship within India only. For international inquiries or bulk shipments related to institutional donations or partnerships, please contact us directly.

2.2 Order Processing Time

  • Orders are usually processed within 5–7 business days from the date of confirmation.

  • During peak donation drives, festivals, or natural disruptions, order processing may take longer. Donors will be notified of any delays via email or phone.

2.3 Delivery Timeline

  • Once dispatched, shipments typically arrive within 7–10 business days, depending on the destination and local courier services.

  • Deliveries to rural or remote areas may take longer.

2.4 Shipping Charges

  • Standard Shipping is typically included in the donation or product cost unless otherwise specified.

  • In special cases (e.g., express delivery or bulk packaging), additional charges may apply. These will be communicated at checkout or via email.

2.5 Delivery Partners

We partner with reliable courier services and India Post to ensure safe and timely delivery. Tracking information will be shared where applicable.

3. Exchange and Return Policy

3.1 General Policy

As a charitable trust, IRCT does not operate as a commercial seller. However, we are committed to donor satisfaction and will address issues arising from:

  • Damaged goods during transit

  • Incorrect or incomplete shipments

  • Defective or unusable items

3.2 Conditions for Exchange

An exchange or replacement may be offered only under the following conditions:

  • The product was damaged, broken, or defective upon delivery.

  • An incorrect item was sent.

  • The request is made within 7 days of receiving the item.

Items must be unused and in their original packaging to be eligible for exchange.

3.3 Non-Exchangeable Items

The following items are not eligible for return or exchange:

  • Items received more than 7 days ago

  • Custom-made or personalized merchandise

  • Perishable items or hygiene-sensitive products

  • Donor reward items clearly marked as non-returnable

3.4 Exchange Procedure

To request an exchange:

  1. Email us at: [email protected] with:

    • Order reference number

    • Photo(s) of the item and packaging

    • Description of the issue

  2. Wait for confirmation: Our team will review your request within 3 business days.

  3. If approved, we will arrange for a replacement shipment or advise on next steps. IRCT may or may not request the return of the original item depending on value and logistics.

4. Cancellations of Shipped Goods

  • Orders cannot be canceled once dispatched.

  • If you refuse delivery, the product will be returned to us. We may deduct shipping and handling charges if a replacement or redelivery is requested.

5. Responsibility and Liabilities

IRCT is not responsible for delays or delivery failures due to:

  • Incorrect or incomplete shipping address provided by the donor

  • Recipient unavailable at the delivery address

  • Acts of nature, public disturbances, or courier service disruptions

However, we will assist in tracking and resolving such issues where possible.
